Don’t you just love when your favorite celebrities fall in love? In early February actors Rose Byrne and her Union City-born boyfriend, Bobby Cannavale, welcomed a beautiful baby boy named Rocco Robin Cannavale into the world. In a recent interview with Playboy, Rose opens up about her desired parenting style and why opportunities to work with Bobby can be both exciting and stressful.
Rose on mimicking her Australian mom and dad’s parenting techniques:
“It’s funny how it manifests itself,” Rose, 36, told Playboy. “My parents are very no-nonsense Australians: They’re incredibly self-sufficient and curious. I hope I’m like them in those ways. Australians are real wanderers; we’re well traveled because we’re so isolated. That’s something I’m proud of in being an Australian.”
Bobby, 46, who stars on the HBO series Vinyl, reportedly started dating the Neighbors 2 (in theaters Friday) star back in 2012 and their love has continued to blossom. So far, they’ve acted together in three films: Adult Beginners (2014), Annie (2014) and Spy (2015). Celebrity couples sharing the big screen together is nothing new, just look at Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie or Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard.
Rose on the ups and downs of working with Bobby:
“I imagine it would be more of a challenge if one of us were directing the other. As with any creative endeavor, you want the best for them. So if it’s a failure, or if it’s not going well, it can be heartbreaking. When we’re working on something together, the stakes can feel pretty high.”
