The Mall at Short Hills is losing an iconic department store to American Dream Meadowlands. Saks Fifth Avenue is closing its Short Hills Location, and heading to the three million-square-foot shopping and entertainment center that’s currently under construction in East Rutherford. The new store will be huge, a whopping 132,000 square feet, and is set to open in late 2017, or early 2018. A slew of stores are already slated to join Saks at the 3 billion-dollar mega mall, from luxury retailer Hermès, to discount giant Century 21, to fashionista favorites Zara and Uniqlo.

Developer Triple Five, which also operates the Mall of America in Minnesota, took over the massive mall project in 2011, which was first proposed as Meadowlands Xanadu way back in 2003. In addition to being every Jersey girl’s new go-to shopping destination, the site will boast a 4-D movie theatre, an indoor ski-slope, a huge indoor water park, and tons of restaurant options.

Do we really have to wait 2 more years?!
