Okay, so maybe he’s not technically being sent to the principal’s office. That was a slight exaggeration.

Paterson rapper Fetty Wap recently returned to Eastside High School to shoot the video for “Wake Up.” The 24-year-old has always been open about the fact that he dropped out because high school just wasn’t his thing and his recent encounter with school district officials is proof.

Paterson School District is conducting an investigation to see who allowed the music video to be shot at the high school, a spokesperson told NJ Advance Media.

Although the district has publicly stated that they do not endorse the content of the video, it seems as though Fetty Wap is sending a generally positive message to his high school fans.

“I can tell you from experience that if you really put your heart and effort into achieving your goals, you won’t walk away empty handed. You’ll make it,” Fetty Wap wrote in an inspirational Instagram, posted the day the “Wake Up” single was released.
