Good news, Jersey Shore drink lovers! Popular Sea Bright bar Donovan’s Reef, which was damaged by Hurricane Sandy in 2012, is finally rebuilding. Construction started two weeks ago, with the opening planned for sometime next spring, reports NJ.com. The popular local hangout, which has served Jersey musical luminaries including Jon Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen, reopened its beach tiki bar last year, meant to be their temporary location until they can rebuild. The bar opened in 1976 and is named after the 1963 John Wayne movie.
Sea Bright Mayor Dina Long said, “I’m looking forward to the return of a Donovan’s that, like the rest of the new Seas Bright, is built to last. Donovan’s is an integral piece of the Sea Bright fabric. Without Donovan’s in Sea Bright, it feels like something’s missing.”
