Hide the pizza! Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have invaded Jersey City

'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows' movie review

Looking for some family fun this summer? The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Secrets of the Sewer exhibit is on display now at Liberty Science Center in Jersey City through September 5, and is the perfect place to visit after catching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows. At the museum, they’ll get to engage with their favorite colorful characters as they come to life through this display that lets kids actively play, not just watch.

Here’s what you can expect from the exhibit, courtesy of Liberty Science Center’s website:

This summer you can visit the underground lair of your favorite shelled crime-fighters and enjoy hours of creative play as you leap into action and solve puzzles, mazes, and obstacles.

Shoot pizza at enemy targets, navigate a rope maze without triggering alarms, and peer through the Street View Periscope to see Turtles on the NYC street above you. Then crawl through sewer pipes to discover hidden artworks, practice skateboarding skills on balance board skateboards, test your knowledge of the Ninja Turtles’ history in an interactive game, and more!

Even better: on June 18, Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Raphael will be at the museum for what sounds like the most fun event ever: The Science of Pizza. How could you not want to attend? There will be a pizza tossing contest and a giant catapult you can use to launch your favorite toppings onto a pizza 30 feet away! Plus the event will feature a presentation by celebrity chef Donatella Arpaia and the Star-Ledger’s Munchmobile maestro Pete Genovese and basic nutrition lessons for kids under six.
