Show some Jersey love with a bottle of What Exit Wines from Old York Cellars

WINE AND ART
Happy #WineWednesday! Let’s talk NJ wines, shall we?

In Central Jersey, there are so many great wineries within a small radius of each other. I’m a big fan of Unionville Vineyards in Hopewell, Hopewell Valley Vineyards in Hopewell, Cream Ridge Winery in Cream Ridge and Tomasello Winery which has a tasting room in Lambertville. One that has been on my list to visit for as long as I’ve lived in this year is Old York Cellars in Ringoes. This past weekend I was up that direction to drop my daughter off at a birthday party. Since she’s at the age where parents don’t need to stay, I jumped at the opportunity to check out Old York and pick up a bottle for dinner. The winery was only about 12-15 minutes from the party, and I had 2 hours to kill. Plenty of time to go exploring.

It was a beautiful day to begin with for hanging out at the winery and there was live music for guests out on their back patio. I stopped in their tasting room with the intention of grabbing a light white for something summery. When I walked up to the bar, I saw all the What Exit Wines lining the back wall. I didn’t realize Old York bottled those wines, but I had to give it a try. I allowed myself a small taste of the What Exit White and loved both the taste and the vintage New Jersey postcard label. If I didn’t have to drive and had more time to hangout, I would have done the Wine & Chocolate tasting.

General tastings are available on a walk-in basis every day from noon to 5pm and include six wines for only $7 per person. Their tasting experiences, which involve chocolates, cheese and a winemakers tour, are offered every Saturday at 2pm and start at $20 a person. Click here to learn more.

And if you like the What Exit Wines, Old York Cellars is hosting their What Exit Wines Summer Festival to benefit USA Hometown Heroes on Saturday, July 16th from Noon to 7pm. There’s always something happening at Old York Cellars and I hope to come back soon!
