During a concert in Wantagh, NY, Charlie Puth paid tribute to fellow New Jersey native Christina Grimmie, who was fatally shot at her Orlando, Florida concert.
“I want to dedicate this song to her tonight,” said Charlie. “I’ve been upset about this all day, mainly because I just never got to say what I wanted to say to her. I feel like this song perfectly captures that.”
The 24-year-old Rumson native then gave a touching performance of his hit song, “See You Again.”
Before the show, Charlie tweeted a message to Christina.
When you die, your body dies, but your soul lives on forever, as will hers. Rest In Peace Christina Grimmie. A beautiful talent.

Charlie got his start on YouTube, just as Christina did before becoming a finalist on The Voice.
