A private funeral will be held for slain singer Christina Grimmie later on this week in her home state of New Jersey, where loved ones will lay her to rest.
“It’s just going to be a small, intimate gathering for her family and close friends,” a source told People.
Hundreds gathered on Monday to pay their respect to the 22-year-old singer and YouTube star during a candlelight vigil in her hometown of Marlton in Evesham Township. Her older brother Marcus Grimmie opened up about the strong bond he had with Christina and the impact she had on lives around the world.
“She loved this town, she loved this state, she loved singing, she loved the Lord and she loved me and she was my baby sister,” Marcus said at the vigil. “Adam Levine paid for Christina’s funeral. Selena Gomez is singing a song and crying [during her concert]. These people didn’t have that and we are blessed to. She’s in a better place.”
The popular contestant on The Voice was fatally shot during a meet and greet in Orlando on Friday.
