New Jersey has more horses per square mile than any other state

Here’s a fun fact: New Jersey is home to more horses per square mile than any other state! We’ve got over 4,000 horse farms, such as the historic Lana Lobell horse farm. Gladstone is home to the U.S. Equestrian Team, which recently finished second place in the St. Gallen Nations Cup.

Fittingly, New Jersey is where equestrian Jessica Springsteen, daughter of Bruce Springsteen and Patti Scialfa, first discovered her love of horses.

We’ve also got more people per square mile (with 9 million residents, that works out to 1,210 people per square mile) but the smallest average town size.

And good news for lovebirds: we’ve got the lowest divorce rate and are the least likely to marry more than once. Jersey love for-ev-a!

We’re also #1 in the country for incomes of those with graduate or postgraduate degrees. Ka-ching!

A little bad news: we do have the highest property taxes, but with all the other things Jersey has going for it, we’ll take a few downsides along with the good.
