What could be better than summer at the Jersey Shore? The OMJ staff has come up with our bucket list of what you must do when you’re there!

Jenkinson’s Boardwalk at Point Pleasant Beach
Rachel: I love going to Jenkinson’s Boardwalk, looking out over the water, eating fried dough and whatever other delicious and surely not good for me snacks I can, and playing games with my boyfriend. One of our most memorable dates involved him spending an epic amount of time and money trying to win me stuffed animals from the claw machine. Yes, he was victorious, and those toys hold pride of place on my bookcase.

Dinner in Cape May after a day at the Wildwood Beach
Susan: As you may know, I am counting down the days to my vacation in Wildwood Crest. Now only 23 days away. We’ll be there for my birthday, as we were last year, so I’m looking forward to another date night with my honey in Cape May. Last year we stuffed our faces with New Orleans cuisine (and some local vino) at 410 Bank Street. Where should we eat this year? Tweet me @omjfeed and let me know your suggestions!

Happy Wineday to me!

Antique shopping in Asbury Park
Kelly: I’m an unconventional Jersey Shore kinda gal. I don’t like being in the sun (I’m Irish!), and I’m not a big fan of the beach either. But what I do love, is antique shopping, and lucky for me, Asbury Park is full of amazing stores. I could spend hours getting lost inside the treasure trove that is the Antique Emporium of Asbury Park. An Asbury antiquing trip is also not complete without a stop at Ken’s Antiques, and Backward Glances. I guarantee you will not go home empty handed (and you won’t get sunburnt!).

Bally’s Beach Bar in Atlantic City
Nothing screams summer like a day party on the beach! While Atlantic City nightlife is always a good time, being out in the fresh air with a cold drink in my hand, surrounded by happy shore-goers in their bathing suits sounds even better! Bally’s Beach Bar is located right on the boardwalk. They have live entertainment, fun outdoor games and more! You have to hear their cover band do their rendition of Rihanna and Drake’s “Work”…it was amazing!

Ride a (preferably pink) beach cruiser down the boardwalk at Belmar
Hannah: During my last trip to Belmar, I couldn’t help but stare at all of the beach babes flying around on beach cruisers. (If you are reading this and saw a girl staring at you, I apologize. I just thought your bike was super fabulous.) Belmar Bike Shop has a set of wheels called the Electra Fashion that needs to make an appearance on my Instagram feed immediately.

Drink rum buckets with my best friends
Nicole: If you’ve never drank from a rum bucket, you’re truly missing out on life. I couldn’t even tell you what’s in a rum bucket (besides rum because, duh), but it’s honestly amazing. It’s fruity, it’s colorful and it’s in a bucket. That’s all you need to know, right? The drink, that has become a Jersey shore staple in recent years, is available at hot spots like Beach Bar in Asbury Park, and 9th Ave. Pier in Belmar. Thirsty anyone?
