Zoe Saldana was born in Jersey but traces her roots to the Dominican Republic.

Zoe Saldana is in Cuba for a photo shoot with People en Español, but took a break from work to celebrate her 38th birthday at a Havana restaurant on Sunday.

Well wishers at the intimate soiree joined together to sing the Dominican birthday song to the Passaic native just before she blew out the single candle atop her pink and white cake.

The magazine’s editor in chief, Armando Correa, posted a reaction video of the beauty in which she thanks the group in Spanish, saying, “Gracias, muchas gracias a toditos ustedes.”

The Star Trek actress also took a break from her busy schedule this weekend to celebrate her Italian artist husband Marco Perego on Father’s Day with an Instagram snap of him with their adorable 1-year-old twins Cy and Bowie.
