Fresco in Montclair is basically the ‘Real Housewives’ dining room

Fresco is on Church Street in downtown Montclair, near Melissa Gorga’s boutique, Envy.

Fresco in Montclair has great brick-oven pizza, ravioli (and cannoli), a comfortable dining room and attentive service. But what it often provides is not on the menu: a chance to mingle with the cast of Real Housewives of New Jersey up close and personal.

We haven’t done the math but of all the restaurants frequented by the Housewives both on screen and off, Fresco is one of the most popular.

Teresa Guidice got dolled up for a girls night at the Church Street bistro Tuesday night. “His food is amazing,” she captioned her photo.

Melissa Gorga recently took her store manager Derek Zagami to Fresco for lunch on his birthday (it is right around the corner from her boutique, Envy) and celebrated her son Gino’s first communion there last month.

Also in May, cast member Jacqueline Laurita reportedly celebrated her 46th birthday with a joint party with Kim DePoala at the restaurant.

In the show’s last season the Italian bistro served as the backdrop for at least two scenes, one with Teresa and Dina Manzo and another in which Kathy Wakile asked Teresa to write a forward for her cookbook. We don’t have any insider info but we wouldn’t be surprised to see Fresco featured again on Season 7, which begins July 10.

The restaurant was opened 3 years ago by Franco Porporino, who has ties to Hollywood and serves as Emmy Award winner Armand Assante‘s manager.
