Siggy Flicker knows a thing or two about love.
The newest Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member is a renowned matchmaker and relationship expert who recently shared her philosophy for a healthy marriage on The Wendy Williams Show.
“Relationships fail because just a like a car, you don’t put gas in a car the car’s not going to move,” explained the Cherry Hill native. “You don’t take of your man and you don’t take care of each other and work at it, the relationship is going to end in divorce.
Flicker — who has been a professional matchmaker for more than 20 years — has said her amicable divorce from husband Mark Flicker in 2007 helped shape her future.
“During the marriage something died with our relationship and we started growing apart,” she said in an interview with AOL. “When you’re sharing your life with a partner that you no longer have the same interests and you’re doing things separately, what’s the point?”
The mother of two and ex-husband Mark were so friendly during their split that they didn’t use attorneys to hammer out the settlement.
But the mother of two found love again with second husband, Michael Campanella, a NJ car dealer whom she calls her “soul mate.”
Siggy and ex-hubby Mark are on such good terms, he was best man to Michael at the couple’s 2012 wedding.
“Everyone was like ‘I don’t really understand it,'” she said of the unorthodox arrangement. “I said you don’t have to understand it. We do.”
The self-help author went on to explain to The Wendy Williams Show audience about how she and Michael keep their romance alive despite their hectic schedules.
“On Wednesday nights I have a date night with my husband,” she continued. “I always bathe myself, wash myself with the strawberry soap. We go out to dinner, I have a glass of wine, I’m relaxed. But I gave him the time to say honey I put the kids away for you tonight.”
Given all of her experience with affairs of the heart, Siggy will surely offer up her two-cents on the often turbulent love lives of her Bravo co-stars in the upcoming seventh season of RHONJ!
It all about making time for your partner & if you have a busy life and kids it is so hard to be spontaneous so why not schedule the time for your partner. It's better than never having the time. Plus strawberry soap is a must – lol!!! #wendywilliamsrules #victoriagotti #oldschoolisthebestschool???? #love #relationships #strawberries????
