Pharrell Williams created i am OTHER to celebrate individuality and creativity within different facets of the entertainment world, including music, film, technology, television and multimedia. After inspiring the world to get up and be “Happy,” he then wanted to take things a step further by teaching people how to develop their talents and desired crafts.
It turns out, the name for the company was inspired by one of music’s and New Jersey’s greatest artists: Lauryn Hill. A simple conversation with the 41-year-old South Orange native left a lasting impression on the hit record producer and he soon transformed those words into an outlet for endless innovative possibilities.
