Michael Strahan will bring some exciting changes to the set of Good Morning America with his September arrival as full-time co-host.
“There are big changes coming to GMA,” an insider told Page Six. “Lara [Spencer] could be out, and George [Stephanopolous] will be seen less at the main anchor desk with Robin Roberts. Instead, Michael will be appearing more while George focuses on politics and hard news.
The source added that Michael’s beat isn’t news, saying, “He’s not going to cover Libya or Brexit. Amy [Robach] does the news well, and they need a newscaster.”
The former New York Giants defensive end, 44, reportedly wants to do more of the human interest and entertainment stories, which could displace Lara Spencer who could likely move on to focus on her HGTV projects including Flea Market Flip and I Brake for Yard Sales.
We’re just excited to see the energetic Garden State resident back on the air every morning!
