We totally relate to the #GrowingUpinNewJersey Twitter hashtag

No one loves a Wawa like someone who grew up in New Jersey. Even the opening of this Lawrence location in 2015 was a cause for celebration.

The hashtag #GrowingUpinNewJersey was extremely popular over July 4th weekend on Twitter, prompting those who grew up in the Garden State to share all sorts of memories about what it was like to be raised in New Jersey. There’s even one entire Twitter account, @growing_up_nj, devoted to all things Jersey. Anyone who was raised here will be able to relate to not knowing how to pump your own gas, knowing that even though they’re called the New York Giants, they actually play at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, having a “Jersey accent,” being asked if we know Snooki or other Jersey Shore cast members, loving taylor ham (aka pork roll), Hurricane Sandy and appreciating all that our favorite local convenience store, Wawa, which is opening even more New Jersey locations this year, has to offer.
