Jon Bon Jovi gave a lucky couple the experience of a lifetime when he performed his hit song, “Livin’ on a Prayer” at their July 2 wedding in South Florida, according to an Asbury Park Press report.
The Perth Amboy native, 54, and wife Dorothea Bongiovi were guests at the nuptial when the singer was singled out at his table by a jazz combo hired by the couple in hopes of luring the music legend on stage.
The seasoned pro joined singer Lourdes Valentin in a jazzed up version of his signature song, which featured a trumpet solo in place of the usual guitar solo.
“I was told that Jon wanted to sing with my band so I went to work and arranged a few songs for my quintet, ‘Livin’ on a prayer’ and ‘Who says we can’t go home,’“ wrote Valentin on YouTube in the introduction to a video of the performance. “I said to myself it’s better to be prepared than sorry. Personally I have so much respect for this artist. A man that gives back so much is to be respected and honored.”
We wish we had seen it in person, but we’ll settle for this awesome video!
