Michael Strahan’s life as a pitchman is coming to an end.
The handsome former football player, 44, is joining Good Morning America in the fall and his new contract with ABC prevents him from appearing in any commercials, according to a Page Six report.
The Jersey resident — who has hawked products like Dr. Pepper and Snickers —became part of the ABC News division when he made the jump to GMA, which bans staffers from endorsement deals.
The father of four didn’t have the same restrictions when he was under his former Disney/ABC Domestic Television contract alongside Kelly Ripa. In fact, the Live! With Kelly host pitches for brands including Electrolux appliances and Colgate toothpaste.
“Michael’s endorsements are set to expire in the next few months and won’t be renewed,” an ABC spokesperson told Page Six. “His clothing line [with J.C. Penney] will continue, and he’s held to the same disclosure standard as anyone else at ABC News.”
But don’t worry about Michael’s bank account. The former Giants player recently signed on to host a re-launched version of The $100,000 Pyramid game show in addition to his new morning gig!
