Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice has made no secret of her passion for yoga, which she credits with helping her get through her 11-month prison sentence last year.

She’s continued to practice since being home, including going to a yoga class with her sister-in-law and fellow RHONJ castmate Melissa Gorga.

Now Teresa’s shared her top 7 yoga poses in a video for Women’s Health, and shows readers how to get into warrior, warrior II, downward-facing dog, tree pose, tripod pose, cobra pose and child’s pose. She told the magazine, “Yoga helped me get through it all. I used to think about [my daughters] constantly. It used to break my heart, being away from them.”

Since returning home, she’s been doing yoga five days a week, and wants to up the ante by turning it into a career as a yoga instructor as well as having her own line of yoga clothes. “I love it so much that I want to get certified in it. I have, I would say, a few more months to go. I’m just taking my time, because I have four daughters. It’s a lot, but I’m definitely going to complete it,” she said.

The New York Daily News also did some yoga with Teresa at Nirvana Wellness Center in Montville, where she revealed that tripod is her favorite pose.

She told the newspaper her husband Joe Giudice, who’s currently serving his own prison term, has even tried yoga. “He said he took a few classes. He’s very flexible. He’s a black belt…When he comes home he’s going to do it with me,” Teresa revealed.

Teresa also made a bold claim: she believes the new Orange Is the New Black Season 4 character Judy King, a celebrity inmate, is based more on her stint at Danbury Correctional Institute than that other famous Jersey jailbird. “They made a character that is just like me. They probably read my book. Martha Stewart never did yoga. They should have had me play the part! Of course I would have done it. They would have had the real thing,” she said. She’s referring, of course, to her memoir, Turning the Tables: From Housewife to Inmate and Back Again, which was released in paperback this week.

What we still don’t know is will we see Teresa doing yoga to combat the tension on Season 7 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, which premieres Sunday night? We’ll be watching to find out!
