Martell’s Tiki Bar, the Point Pleasant hot spot that allows visitors to drink on the beach, is back with a new dress code and ID policy. Point Pleasant Patch reports that Martell’s has tightened up the rules after a customer’s fatal drunk driving accident in 2013 resulted in a lawsuit and the suspension of the bar’s liquor license.

The new dress code asserts that shirts must be worn after 7 p.m., thong swimwear is prohibited, and beach attire is only permitted before 5 p.m. Additionally, Martell’s will search any bags deemed questionable. If a customer refuses the search, he or she may enter without the bag.

The ID policy states that anyone under the age of 25 is required to present two forms of ID.

Changes made to both policies can be read in full at the Martell’s Tiki Bar website.
