Although Teresa Giudice spent only 11 months behind bards at FCI Danbury in Connecticut, the Real Housewives of New Jersey star thinks it was just long enough to inspire a character on Orange is the New Black.
The hit Netflix series, which was based off author Piper Kerman’s experience at the same prison, returned for Season 4 last month and introduced a new character named Judy King who is a newly incarcerated celebrity domestic diva who has all the other inmates talking.
Although OITNB creator Jenji Kohan has said the character — played by actress Blair Brown — was based on Martha Stewart who spent time in the slammer in 2004, Teresa told The New York Daily News she thinks the similarities between herself and Judy are uncanny.
“They made a character that is just like me. They probably read my book,” said the mother of four, whose New York Times bestselling memoir Turning the Tables was released in February.
