Hair chameleon Kim Kardashian West is at it again. The style icon debuted a blunt new hairstyle this week while celebrating Kylie Jenner‘s 19th birthday and fans went nuts, including us! Which is why we had to let you know you can obtain this chic look in just five easy steps.
Full disclosure: The 35-year-old mother of two didn’t actually chop off her long mane for a shorter do, spoiler alert: it’s a wig! It seems the Kim’s been taking some notes from younger sister Kylie who is all about that wig life.
“I’ve been saying for SO long that I want to cut my hair,” Kim wrote on her website/app. “So the day before Kylie’s event for Kylie Cosmetics I decided to achieve the look a different way: a wig! Everyone is saying I chopped my hair, but it’s all an illusion!”

Chris recommends prepping your damp or wet hair with moisturizing cream first with Oribe Moisturizing Hair Cream.

2. Blow it out
To get extremely smooth, pin-straight hair, you’ll need an intense blow dryer like the Kardashian Beauty Blow Dryer. Chris advises you create a deep part, before starting, according to Celebuzz.com.

He then used a hot Kardashian Beauty Flat Iron on Kim’s ends to “enhance the blunt finish.”
