Once upon a time (aka, in 2011), Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member Melissa Gorga had a singing career with dance tracks like “How Many Times.” But what about now that she’s even busier being a reality TV star, boutique owner at Envy, and wife and mother?
Well, she told the blog All About The Real Housewives when they asked whether reviving her singing career might be in the cards, it’s still possible, though unlikely. And if it did happen, it would probably not be in the next few months, she said, explaining, “It’s crazy how many people ask me that. That was a time in my life that I absolutely loved; I couldn’t be happier to have had multiple songs on the Dance charts. Right now, it just makes more sense for me to do things that keep me in the state of New Jersey, but I never say never.”
That being said, she’s never stopped loving music or expressing that love, such as her dance and singalong to “Pretty Girl Rock” by Keri Hilson during a date night with husband Joe Gorga in June, where they hit the popular Towaco restaurant and RHONJ cast favorite, Rails Steakhouse, home of Melissa’s favorite sangria.
Melissa and Joe also did karaoke to “Don’t Stop Believin'” by Journey at a party at the home of the Cake Boss, aka Buddy Valastro.
In the interview, Melissa also touched on a major plot point in Season 7: that Joe is upset with all the hours she’s spending working on Envy. What does Melissa the businesswoman think of that? She revealed, “I’m so used to Joe being on the same page as me, so this one really threw me for a loop. He wanted nothing to do with the boutique at first, and as you can see we were definitely struggling pretty hard with the logistics of it. But I was adamant in turning his decision around and making him see the light. He comes around – eventually.”
Now, if you’re reading OMJ, we’re pretty sure you’re as glued to your TVs on Sunday nights as we are to find out what’s happening with Melissa, Teresa Giudice, Jacqueline Laurita, Siggy Flicker, and Dolores Catania, but if you’re only an occasional viewer, here’s what Melissa said is in store for the rest of the season: “At the beginning, it may seem like we are writing each other love letters but that all starts to unfold so keep watching! It’s a doozy.”
