You definitely need a pair of Team Great Britain’s light up sneakers

The Rio Olympics had some great style moments along with all the medal-winning athletic feats. We are still swooning over gold-medalist (and Old Bridge native) Laurie Hernandez’s perfect winged eyeliner. But for the closing ceremony, Team Great Britain’s (literally) flashy shoes stole the style show. The Olympians sported canvas sneakers with LED lights in the soles from an English brand called Simon Jersey. Unfortunately, the shoes are a bit difficult to have delivered to the United States, so we’ve found a few pairs that won’t have to be shipped over an ocean.

LED Shoes has three kiosks in the Mills at Jersey Gardens where the sneakers can be purchased for men, women and children in a variety of designs. (Seriously, walking past a stand of light-up sneakers is nearly as difficult to pass as an Auntie Annie’s pretzel stand.)

Wize & Ope has a line of LED sneakers for men at Sak’s Fifth Avenue. The collection ranges from $150 to $200.

There are also a number of websites to order the shoes online, including HoverKicks, which has free two day shipping! With designs for men, women and kids, the sneakers run from $50 to $100. We love these $69 pink and turquoise kicks! They even come with a remote control to switch up the colors.

You can also grab the exact same pair as Washington Township native Halsey from Inu Inu for $39.99.

If you’re feeling particularly adventurous, you can even make your own! Check out this tutorial to spice up your favorite Chuck Taylors.
