Eyebrow threading is a relatively new alternative to plucking or waxing.

There’s no denying the fact that eyebrows have quickly become one of the most important aspects of the beauty industry. As of the past few years, there is very little tolerance for bad brows in this world! Even Milania Giudice keeps hers groomed.

Jessica Alba recently told Allure that she wishes she could tell her younger self to avoid plucking her eyebrows, as it can be difficult to get those precious eyebrow hairs back. Here are five ways to keep your eyebrows looking fantastic! (Or, to save them if you’re in a bit of an eyebrow crisis.)

1. Tinting and reshaping
For those who have over-plucked, there actually is a way to get your full brows back. This Hackensack-based makeup artist is basically an eyebrow wizard. Her eyebrow transformations are unreal! She even offers henna tinting.

2. Threading
Threading allows eyebrow hair to be removed without posing the risk of ingrown hairs, like plucking, or the possibility of a bad reaction from waxing. It’s also considered to be slightly less painful than other methods of eyebrow hair removal. The Nail Loft in Jersey City does great threading for only $7!

3. Subtle grooming
If you already have beautiful, full eyebrows, it can be daunting to trust someone to groom them. (Losing too much eyebrow hair can be traumatic!) Soléne Boutique in Teaneck has a seriously talented brow specialist who knows how to make the tiny changes your naturally on-fleek eyebrows need.

4. Waxing
If you truly love having your eyebrows waxed and it works for you, then keep doing your thing! SLS Beauty Lounge, a new spot in Park Ridge, offers eyebrow waxing and tinting so that you can try something new while sticking to a routine you’re used to.

5. Microblading
If you don’t believe in magic, you haven’t heard of microblading. This procedure is semi-permanent and involves the manual use of a needle to deposit pigment into the eyebrow to create the appearance of eyebrow hairs. Avarte Pigmentation is available at Aesthetic Rejuvenation Center in Englewood Cliffs. They also do other permanent makeup procedures, such as eyeliner and lipliner. Pricing ranges from $500 to $1000.
