Coco Austin, wife of Ice-T and mom of the always adorable nine-month-old baby Chanel Nicole, is getting candid about her parenting choices. While she’s shared almost every detail about her motherhood journey, from breastfeeding to donning matching outfits with her daughter, she’s now sharing insights into how having Chanel changed her outlook on her life and career.
The Edgewater mom, 37, told E! that her modeling career wouldn’t have been as important to her if she’d started having kids earlier in life. “If I had her first, I wouldn’t even care about my career honestly. This to me is a career and I wish that I kind of got the grip a little earlier in life. I know that it’s meant to be because if I would have had [kids] earlier, I may have not had her. I would maybe be in a different position in my life.”
She also revealed, “I feel kind of guilty sometimes. I look at really big families and before I would be like man, that’s a lot of kids. I don’t even know how they do it, but now I wish I kind of did start earlier so that I would have a big family. At the same time, I look at Chanel and I’m just as happy just having one as opposed to 10.”
We’re pretty sure that she’s able to dote on Chanel in a special way because she’s an only child, allowing Coco to do everything from marking milestones like Chanel’s first tooth to shooting too cute for words videos of one of New Jersey’s chicest babies to setting up special photo shoots for her. And let’s not forget maintaining Chanel’s impressive baby social media presence on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, where she has a total of over 545,000 followers. Chanel has even made her official modeling debut for a British Vogue photo shoot! Perhaps she’ll follow in her beautiful mom’s footsteps?
Plus Chanel travels with the famous pair all over, from Arizona to Philadelphia, and has even attended her father’s Body Count concerts (in baby headphones, of course!).
