As summer is winding down, and we are all getting back into the swing of our usual routines , life can get a bit hectic. Sadly shopping isn’t always on the top of our priorities list (although we sure wish it was!) Alba Boutique is about to make your life a whole easier. They recently launched their Albastylebox, which allows you to try on their clothes and accessories at home for free, without having to set foot inside their store. It’s perfect for the busy mom or working woman who doesn’t have time to stop by their Ridgewood or Hoboken locations. As a hard-pressed career gal myself, I’m always looking for ways to expedite my life, so I could not wait to order myself a box of fashion goodies.
Owner Jeanna Palumbo — who launched Alba as a brick and mortar store and e-commerce site back in 2013 — could not have made the process more easier if she tried. The first step is a quick phone consultation or email with the talented stylist. Jeanna asked me the basics, like where do you normally shop, what colors you enjoy wearing, and what fit you feel best in. After an easy (and short!) consultation, Jeanna has garnered enough intel to be able to select the pieces best suited for my style and needs, from their wide assortment of under-the-radar contemporary brands. All you need to do after that is put a credit card on file (they only charge you for the items you decide to keep). You are allowed to try on up to 5 items at a time.
Now comes the hard part: deciding what you want. Once your package arrives (this usually takes 1-3 days), you then have 4 days after receiving your clothes to decide what you want to keep or return. Jeanna was able to get a great grasp on my style based solely off of our phone conversation. She picked out a nice mix of dark hues (I’m not much of a color girl), chic form-fitting tops and bodysuits, a classic blazer, and a fab pair of leather skinnies perfect for those cool Fall days approaching. She was also able to fulfill a special request to include a pair of Quay sunnies I had been lusting over. You can absolutely request specific items you see featured on their website or Instagram feed, not just ones she recommends for you.
Once you pick out what you will be keeping, all you need to do is send the rest back, and that’s it. So easy, right? Then you are ready to order your next box of style. After much contemplation I decided to keep my Quay Midnight Runner sunnies and a simple and sleek LNA black bodysuit.
Jeanna tells me she created the style box when one of her top clients relocated to Boston. “After realizing there was no comparable shopping there, our team of stylists hand picked an assortment of clothing we knew she would love, and sent out our very first box,” she tells me, “From there, we realized there is a huge demand from our clientele who enjoy premier and private shopping, but cannot make it into either of my stores. We now ship boxes to clients throughout the country who enjoy the quality of our brands, and love coming home to a surprise box of clothing and accessories.”
If you are ready to order your first Albastyle box, email firstname.lastname@example.org. Or if you have some time to visit them in store (lucky you!), you can check out their Hoboken spot at 716 Washington Street or their Ridgewood location at 10 South Broad Street.
