Pat Tortorello will compete on the upcoming season of “Hell’s Kitchen.”

If there is someone who can take the heat in Gordon Ramsay’s kitchen, it’s a New Jersey resident. That’s exactly what’s going to happen on season 16 of “Hell’s Kitchen” when Belleville’s own Pat Tortorello will compete with the best.

Along with 18 other chefs, Tortorello will show off his cooking skills and in an attempt to win a spot as head chef at Yardbird Southern Table & Bar at The Venetian in Las Vegas. According to his Facebook page, he’s had a rather interesting background making him a prime candidate for reality TV. Most recently he’s been an area manager at Performance Foodservice and also a drummer in the band Brass Knuckle Barbie. He also was a chef instructor at Star Career Academy and even worked at the Essex County Jail.

Bloody hell, here we go again ! An all new #HellsKitchen is coming to @foxtv this September

Friends and family are clearly excited to him hit the small screen as they posted words of support on his page. “You’ve come a long way from the hotdog truck,” wrote one friend.

“I can’t wait to hear Gordon call you Chef Sexy,” quipped another pal.  “That’s not exactly how it went,” replied Tortorello.

While we’re not sure how it will all play out on the September 23 premiere, revealed his signature dish as pan-seared sea bass with citrus risotto, pistachio fennel frond gremolata and balsamic-glazed heirloom cherry tomatoes. We can definitely get behind that. Let’s see how Gordon feels!
