Soap to guac: The most unique vendors at Jersey City’s 6th Borough Market

There’s plenty of local treasures to be found at Jersey City’s 6th Borough Market. The seasonal, tented street bazaar takes place on the first and third Sundays of the month from May through October. This fabulous (and pet friendly!) market, which has been bringing the community together since 2013, features an assortment of local vendors selling a little bit everything from highly-curated vintage clothing and collectables, to jewelry, furniture, local artwork, and yummy food. With so many amazing and talented sellers, it was no easy feat to narrow down the list. Here’s our 5 favorite vendors that you need to check out on your next trip to this wonderful waterside martketplace.

 37 Ferns
Bring a piece of mother nature indoors with one of 37 Fern’s beautiful terrariums. It’s an easy way to add a little greenery to your home or office, and it would make the perfect gift for that special someone with a green thumb.

 Hoboken Soapworks
These hand-crafted liquid castile soaps soaps come in three different blends of essential oils; pepperlyptus, citrusmint, and honeysuckle. They are high-quality and smell delicious.  Plus, you are supporting a great local business.

 Ironbound Vintage
This Linden-based Etsy seller has an amazing selection of industrial and mid-century furniture that can help breathe new life to any room in your home. Owner Natalie Pereira personally sources every item herself, and finds most of her pieces locally throughout New Jersey.

The Guac Spot
This Garden State, avocado-obsessed family creates guacomolea that is all-natural, with delicious chunks of tasty avocado and veggie goodness. They only use 100% Hass Avocados, so that means no starches or fillers. It is just as delicious as it is healthy.

The market will be open from 11am – 5p m on September 18th, October 2nd, and October 16th, before wrapping up ’til 2017. You can find them at the corner of Christopher Columbus Drive and Hudson Street.
