Brunette beauty Margaux Minutolo is much more than a pretty face from the Garden State. The Morris County native’s emerging fashion line Karma for a Cure by Margaux, which launched in 2012, is taking on the world by storm! From showing at New York Fashion Week, pop-up shops, and traveling the world, Margaux is an inspiration with her positivity, beautiful designs and admirable work ethic. It’s more than a collection, it’s a lifestyle, one that she says appeals to the “philanthropic fashionista.”
OMJ: What was your inspiration behind the Karma for a Cure line?
KARMA for a Cure is inspired by my late father Freddy’s coastal lifestyle and love for the ocean, fishing and travel. Each collection is made to explore the world while giving back to cancer research in his honor.
For the fall season what are some of your key must haves?
For fall, every adventurer needs the Professional Jet-Setter Tank, especially for those women who love to travel. You can pair that with your favorite pant or opt for my Jet-Setter Joggers which are so cozy and chic. Most of us have a case of wanderlust. The World Peace and Prosecco top is another piece I adore that’s coming out soon! These pieces can easily be dressed up or down depending upon your mood and lifestyle.

What are some of your fave places to shop in New Jersey?
I love to shop at Maluka in Wyckoff. It is a beautifully curated boutique with a unique selection and impeccable customer service. I also love Neiman Marcus at Garden State Plaza, Nordstrom for killer shoes and Bloomingdale’s The Shops at Riverside for their MAC counter and denim.
As a designer and New Jersey fashionista what are some of your fashion and beauty must-haves?
I think every fashionista needs the essentials to build a beautiful look. My favorite signature blush, Nars Orgasm is a go to for a subtle cheek with a golden glow. If your skin is glowing you always look fresh! I also love bralettes and have them in every fabric/color to style under my fav KARMA pieces. I also always wear my signature body chain and have a selection of on trend chokers. A simple accessory that modernizes classic silhouettes will make every outfit your own.
What’s new for Karma for a Cure?
So much! We just debuted the Chasing Sunsets 2017 Collection at NYFW featuring elevated resortwear made to “chase the sun”. The palettes are muted and pastel, which we are known for. The fabrics are free flowing and the silhouettes are relaxed. I am excited to offer our girl a full lifestyle collection from RTW to resort and travelwear pieces. We hope to escape with her often.
Who are some of your favorite New Jersey style mavens?
My mom! I am always inspired by her vintage photographs from the ’70s. My father often took photos of her on their bohemian travels and the elegant yet effortless styling is something that comes through in all of my designs.
Where can we buy your line in New Jersey?
KARMA for a Cure by Margaux is available online at Karmaforacure.com as well as select boutiques such as The Bee, Charlottes Web Towaco, Maluka, Urban Club & exclusive Pop up shops at Lifetime Fitness (locations throughout NJ), with more locations coming soon.
What was your favorite part about showing your collection during NYFW?
It takes approximately 6 months to design, source and produce a collection. So after so many months of sketches, tech packs and sampling, it is exciting and fulfilling to see the product come to life! If you can imagine it all starts with a pencil, paper and a tiny swatch of fabric… I am so excited to share my vision with the world and cannot wait to share what the future holds for KARMA. Stay tuned!
The Karma for a Cure Instagram is full of fashion and wanderlust inspiration. You can also keep up with Margaux and her fashion line on the Facebook, Twitter, her website to view her latest Jet Set collection.
