It’s the sweetest time of year: apple pie season. Rather than heading to your local grocery store to pick up one, there are plenty of bakeries and farmer’s markets serving up fresh homemade pies that make us drool just thinking about them.
We’ve already rounded up the best spots to get a slice (or whole pie) in Bergen County, but there are some great places throughout Hudson County as well. Check them out!
Obviously the dessert king of New Jersey’s original bakery would make the list. Not only has Buddy Valastro aka the Cake Boss become famous for his pastries and cakes, but he also makes a mean apple crumb pie.
The lovely ladies over at Sweet & Flour specialize in custom cakes, cookies, cake pops, cupcakes, but make one heck of a delicious apple crumb pie too. And if that’s not enough apple for you this season, they also bake up scrumptious apple turnovers too.
This famous bakery specializes in upscale custom cakes and focus on bake-to-order products for special events. While they’re super booked up with their overwhelming cake orders, they do take advantage of apple pie season by offering them exclusively from November 1 through January 15.
Everything made by these bakers is organic using all-natural ingredients meaning everything is extra delicious. Though there is no brick and mortar store, you can pick up one of their apple pies or specialty apple-feta cinnamon tarts (yum) at the Riverview Farmer’s Market in Jersey City.
So, the actual location of the farm is in Chester if you want to make the trek otherwise they come to you in Jersey City for the Riverview Farmer’s Market with a ton of their amazing pies. Not only do they have plain old apple, but also apple berry, apple crisp, apple cinnamon, apple cranberry, apple raspberry, and apple walnut. Is that enough apple for you?
