While there is no need to ever leave New Jersey for a date night (check out amazing spots here), sometimes it’s nice to have a night in the city. That’s exactly what some of our favorite Garden Stater trendsetters think, which is why we turned to them to find out the best spots in NYC for a romantic dinner out.
1. Del Posto
Montclair stylist Elaine Yu recently enjoyed a fancy meal at Chelsea’s Del Posto with her husband to celebrate her anniversary. The Mario Batali gem serves up delicious updated Italian classics in a stunning cavernous two-story dining room. It’s right along the Highline, so you can take a little stroll before or after your meal to up the romance factor.
2. Dos Caminos
Food blogger Dina Deleasa-Gonsar knows her food and even won a reality show recently naming her one of the best. So, when she dines out, we listen. Over the summer, the sister of Danielle Jonas took a break from cooking and headed to the Mexican restaurant Dos Caminos with her husband. The tacos, guacamole and margaritas are otherworldly. It’s a great place to spice up a date night. Bonus: there are several locations throughout the city
New Jersey real estate agent Natalya Price’s Instagram account if filled with delicious pics of her favorite meals. With everything looking so scrumptious, we had to know where she dines in NYC. Well, we found out. She dined at Lexington Brass in Midtown East for a date night. The sleek-but-casual bistro offers up hearty New American fare and creative cocktails.
Melanie Pangilinan is a master when it comes to owning a unique style and design and her choice of food is no different. The beauty wouldn’t just settle for any old restaurant for a night out in the city and that’s why she chose the Cuban restaurant. Located in the heart of Midtown, you’ll feel like you’ve been transported for the night with the amazing food selection (think empanadas) and blaring Cuban music. Ole!
Although there is a location in Atlantic City, Jenni “JWoww” Farley opted to head to the Times Square location with her hubby Roger to celebrate the 50th show of the series Snooki & JWoww: Moms With Attitude. Of course, her other date for the evening, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi was in tow as well and the two shared a big bowl of meatballs (fitting right?) together. The Italian restaurant is known for their massive traditional dishes and it’s a great place to go before checking out a Broadway show.
Kathy and Rich Wakile are the kind and queen of date nights. While they are constantly traveling, when they go into NYC they love Bagatelle in the Meatpacking district. The French bistro is known for a lively brunch scene (think dancing on tables) and is set in a stunning space accented by graffiti art.
