Things got a bit wild last night at a cancer charity event in Paterson Tuesday night. No, we’re not talking about some Real Housewives of New Jersey drama, but rather a former Mrs. New Jersey posing with a massive snake!
Paige Lippe, Mrs. New Jersey United States 2014 (who also happens to be my sister!), attended the November 1 Mi Vida charity event at The Brownstone to support William Anthony Jimenez’s battle with Stage 3 Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma. And while you’d think most beauty queens would tend to shy away from scary creatures, this pageant winner embraced the opportunity to hold an albino Burmese boa constrictor.
“A lot of people were scared of the snake,” Paige told OMJ. “But, I loved it! He started squeezing me at one point and I couldn’t talk, but I knew I was too big for him to eat.”
While Paige may have been one of the few brave souls to play with the reptile, more than 200 people showed up to the event. Along with a beefsteak dinner, attendees got the chance to win awesome prizes like VIP passes to PNC Bank Arts Center, Paramour tickets, CrossFit classes, and more.
“There were just tables of amazing raffles and auctions,” added Paige. “It was really great to see people come out for such a good cause. The snake was just a little bonus entertainment.”
The money raised from the evening was to help West Milford self-employed business owner, William and his wife Patty handle the unforeseen costs associated with his battle with cancer. “I am so thankful for the support,” he said. “It made it an awesome night.”
