Kula for Karma returned to the Hilton Pearl River grand-chateau hotel in New York on Monday for their 9th Annual Gala to celebrate two innovators changing the way we view healthy living. It was a night excitement and philanthropy as guests from across Bergen County and beyond enjoyed a plethora of delicious dishes from restaurants and culinary artists from across the region, a silent auction and a smooth serenade by a jazz quartet.
One of the special honorees included The Body Image Boutique co-founder Jen Kraft who prides herself in helping others embrace and become more in-tune with their bodies through therapeutic practices like yoga, meditation and nutritional and medical counseling. The Saddle River business owner also provides a safe haven for women, men and children of all ages to speak freely about issues like eating disorders. Their mission is to help others feel great about who they are, inside and out.
Anesthesiologist Dr. Mark D. Schlesinger, MD of Hackensack University Medical Center was also recognized for being a leader in the healthcare profession. He has been an avid supporter of Kula for Karma for years and is cited as being extremely instrumental in the non-profit organization’s success.
Since 2007, Kula for Karma has offered over 600 therapeutic programs like yoga, mediation and stress management in the tri-state area by integrating them into mainstream medicine techniques and various healthcare fields. Those battling mental and physical challenges are able to experience with the benefits of the programs free of charge.
