Kelly Ripa has been gracing our television screens since becoming a soap opera star on ABC’s All My Children in 1990 and she’s continue her small screen reign ever since. Despite showing off her timeless beauty nearly 30 years in the Hollywood spotlight, the 46-year-old Stratford native revealed a traumatic Botox experience that changed her appearance.
During Wednesday’s episode of Live with Kelly, the married mother of three opened up about a beauty blunder most celebrities wouldn’t dare talk about.
“I’m going to tell you a story I’ve never told anyone,” Kelly told viewers. “I got bad Botox about … what was it, a year ago? And it was bad. It did something to my good side, so then I had two bad sides. I’m not kidding!”
She decided not to go into too much detail about the topic, but assured the audience and her co-host Megyn Kelly the situation has improved a bit. Are we the only ones finding it really hard to imagine Kelly with a bad side of any kind?
“I’m starting to look myself again, but there was about a six-month period where people were like: ‘What’s wrong with Kelly? She doesn’t smile anymore,’ ” Ripa added. “And I was like: ‘I am smiling!’ ”
This isn’t the first time she spoke candidly about her relationship with Botox. Back in April 2007, the Daytime Emmy Award winner addressed rumors circulating around her and plastic surgery. At the time, the only place Kelly received Botox injections was in her armpits to stop her from sweating profusely.
To ensure the cosmetic questions would be put to rest, the funny woman made sure to show just how expressive her face could get. See what we mean below:
