New Jersey is filled with stunning landscapes (there’s a whole Instagram account dedicated to it) and adorable main streets. So, it’s no wonder some of the most successful and wealthiest people in the world want to call the Garden State home. And boy are there some incredible houses.
We swept through the most recent Trulia listings for Bergen County and found that some mansions were for sale nearing $50 million!
The list was topped by an Alpine stunner on the market for $48.88 million. The 30,000-square-foot house was the old Frick estate and features 12-bedrooms, a ballroom, a lounge with circular bar, a home theater, wine cellar and indoor basketball court, with a swimming pool, pool house equipped with kitchen and a tennis court. It first entered the market in 2010 for $68 million.
Just behind this home was a Mahwah home for $35 million set on over 45 breathtaking acres along the panoramic Ramapo River. With 10 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms a 20 stall barn with state of the art amenities, an indoor riding arena, paddocks and trails, it feels more like an English country estate. There’s also a soccer field, as well as a basketball court, outdoor infinity pool, spa, and private spa for the master suite. There are sport lounges throughout the estate, as well as indoor pool, wine cellar, home theater, English Pub/banquet, massage room, and gym.
Two more Alpine homes take the third and fourth spot on the list in terms of the most expensive homes in the county. The first is another English-inspire home for $27.8 million located in the prestigious and private gated Estates at Alpine. It is located on 12.77 acres and includes a 13,000 square-foot English Manor-style residence, a carriage house, English gardens, aviary, and a majestic private stocked pond.
If a French chateau is more your style, then the $19.99 million home nearby on Rio Vista Drive is up for grabs. The 20,000-square-foot home is located on two gated gloriously manicured acres and has 9 bedrooms, 10 full baths, 4 powder rooms, indoor basketball court, indoor 50′ pool, Creston smart house, movie theater and fitness center. There’s also staff quarters.
Lastly, an Englewood home for $19.5 million takes the top five spot and is set on 5 spectacular acres behind a 10-foot high stucco wall with secured entry and was featured on Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous. The 24,000-square-foot home boasts 8 bedrooms,9.5 baths, 6 fireplaces, 4 kitchens, 2 staff apartments.
