Laurie Hernandez sparked a gymnastics boom in NJ.

Laurie Hernandez killed it when it came to 2016. Not only did the Old Bridge native win gold at the Olympic games this past summer, but she also took home the mirror ball trophy after winning Dancing With The Stars on Tuesday night.

Laurie and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy performed an acrobatic foxtrot/Argentine tango that wowed the judges even causing Judge Carrie Ann Inaba to call it her best dance ever. The gymnast herself was stunned by her win.

“First off, I want to thank the amazing @iamvalc,” she wrote on Instagram. “Not only were you my dance partner, but you were my role model and big brother too. Because of you I’ve grown as a person the past 11 weeks. You pushed me out of my comfort zone and I can’t thank you enough for that. WE DID IT…I can’t wait for this new chapter in my life.”

That next chapter has already been quite full for the 16-year-old. She became America’s sweetheart after a clip of her winking at the judges during the Olympics went viral and everyone raved about her killer winged eyeliner game. Then the teen came out with her own book and landed her winning gig on Dancing With the Stars.

Oh, and did we mention she’s been on tour with the Fierce 5? Yup, the talented ladies from the US gymnastics team are showing off their moves on the 2016 Kellogg’s Tour Of Gymnastics Champions and even stopped at Prudential Center in Newark recently.

As if her schedule wasn’t busy enough already, the gold medalist is set to appear in the 90th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, alongside fellow Olympians, boxer Claressa Shields and shot putter Michelle Carter.

What else is next for Laurie? Well, she’ll be going on tour with Dancing With The Stars which kicks off in December and will stop at 43 cities.
