Every New Jersey resident knows that there’s a certain strain of New Yorker who always insists that everything in the Garden State is inferior to what you can get in the Big Apple. Of course, we know the truth (Jersey rules!) so it’s a pleasant change of pace when even a proud New York restaurant-goer concedes that sometimes, us Jersey girls know what we’re talking about. Case in point: Del Frisco’s Grille in Hoboken made it onto the Bitches Who Brunch list of NYC’s Best and Worst Brunches of 2016 as the “Best New Jersey Brunch.” The restaurant opened in 2015 and is part of Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group, which also operates steakhouses in New York, Philadelphia and other cities. In addition to their tantalizing food, the restaurant also has a primo view; according to blogger Hoboken Girl, it features “an unpretentious yet elegant environment to kick back and enjoy life along the world’s most beautiful waterfront.”
The restaurant’s brunch menu is only served on Sundays from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. but it’s more than worth marking on your calendar. They’ve got everything from a Build-Your-Own Bloody Mary to scrambled egg tacos, southern-fried chicken and waffles and chicken-fried steak and eggs.
In their review of Del Frisco’s, they praised three dishes that all sound delicious to us: “the crab cake Benedict with poached eggs, asparagus, toasted focaccia and cajun lobster sauce…the grille Benedict with poached eggs, thin-sliced French ham, scallion and white cheddar biscuits, and chipotle hollandaise…and the red velvet Belgian waffle with whipped vanilla bean-spiked cream cheese with thick-cut hickory-smoked bacon.”
If that hasn’t made your mouth water, here are photos from some other amazing brunch meals that Del Frisco’s has served up recently. We say: Jersey brunch FTW!
