Harlow Winter Village, the Hoboken ice skating rink you’ve been waiting for, will open on December 22 and run through February 28. This gives you plenty of time to practice your skating and enjoy some outdoor exercise with the whole family. As NJ.com reports, there will be hot and cold drinks and food sold by local vendors so you can fuel up and get back in the rink. Admission is free, and you can either use your own regular metal-blade skates or rent them for $10. Planned hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 2:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. and weekends from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. The 3,100 square foot rink is sponsored by Advance Realty, and located under the 14th Street Viaduct.
In a public statement, Hoboken mayor Dawn Zimmer said, “I am thrilled to announce that Hoboken will host a pop-up skating rink as a new option for residents and visitors of all ages to get out and have fun this winter. Along with our newly-built mini-soccer pitches, this facility will further activate our viaduct recreation area and support our growing, vibrant neighborhood in northwest Hoboken. I thank Harlow Hoboken for the generous sponsorship that made this possible.”
