Bobbi Brown is ending one chapter and starting another. The long-time Montclair resident is leaving her namesake cosmetic brand after 25 years at the end of 2016 to explore the next phase of her extraordinary career. Although Bobbi won’t reveal what her next chapter will be, she issued a statement that the brand’s 25th anniversary milestone made her realize that it was time to move on.
“The brand’s 25-year anniversary was a wonderful milestone that made me realize it was time to start a new chapter and move on to new ventures,” she said. “I am thankful for the extraordinary people that I’ve had the privilege to work with over the years and proud of the creative endeavors and innovative products we’ve created together. I am also incredibly grateful to The Estée Lauder Companies and the Lauder family for the many opportunities they gave me. I’m excited to see what the future holds.”
She also posted a quote on Instagram which sums up her move brilliantly, “I am not crazy, I’m creative.”
Peter Lichtenthal, who is the global brand president of Estée Lauder Companies Inc., will continue to oversee Bobbi Brown Cosmetics.
The 59-year-old got her start as a makeup artist in 80’s on editorial shoots and backstage at runway shows. She founded her eponymous cosmetics line in 1991, whose philosophy was enhancing natural beauty, and she quickly became a household name. In ’95 she sold her company to Estée Lauder, remaining closely involved with its operations.
Whatever Bobbi will pursue next, we are sure it will be absolutely brilliant! We can’t wait to see what the cosmetics pioneer has in store for us next.
