Buddy Valastro has a Jersey love fest on ‘The Wendy Williams Show’

Buddy Valastro appeared on the Wendy Williams Show.

It was a full blown Jersey day on The Wendy Williams Show as Cake Boss Buddy Valastro stopped by Tuesday to share some holiday baking recipes. And it didn’t take long for the Garden State to be mentioned either.

“Jersey all day,” said Wendy as she welcomed Buddy to the show. The duo proceeded to make low sugar white chocolate peppermint cupcakes as they chatted about family. Wendy asked if his four children were interested in taking over the booming business. “Sofia and Buddy are really interested in the business,” revealed the dad of four. “Marco and Carlo are still young. Secretly I’d love anyone to take over. Maybe one does the books and one does the baking.”

Ultimately, the proud dad and chef revealed, he just wants his kids to be happy. “What’s important is that they find what they love doing in life,” he added.

Buddy then went on to show Wendy how to make skinny gingerbread cookies. “It’s made with Whole Earth sweetener,” he said. “So, it’s half sugar and half stevia and it cuts the calories in half.” The famous baker even made special vegan cupcakes for Wendy. “This is my first time I made anything vegan and I made it only for you,” revealed Buddy.

Buddy went on to gush about Wendy’s incredible weight loss. “You’re my inspiration Wendy,” he said. “My wife is such a good kick I can’t resist. I’m trying to diet and I just eat and eat and eat.” But, he also revealed who the culinary rock stars were in his life and it wasn’t some famous chefs. “My wife, my mom, and my grandma,” he said.

Of course, the show was concluded with one last New Jersey reference for good measure. “You’re a Jersey girl and I love you,” said Buddy as he signed off.
