As you know New Jersey is home to tons of celebrities (that’s right, they don’t all come from New York). Whether they were born here like the great Meryl Streep or if they moved here later on in life, like music mogul Sean ‘Diddy Combs, the Garden State offers something for any and everyone!

So it’s comes as no surprise when you hear about various celebrities who don’t reside here, stopping by for a little visit, especially in Hoboken. Did you know multi-Grammy Award-winning artist Beyoncé took a trip to Water Music Recording Studio, a hidden gem tucked away on 931 Madison Street. While the tracks she recorded there have yet to be revealed, we’re sure it was one of her many chart-topping hits.

She isn’t the only one who created magical music there. Some of the studio’s other clients who have graced the space include U2, Dave Matthew’s Band, R. Kelly, Shakira, Blondie (fronted by former Hawthorne resident Debbie Harry), Esperanza Spalding and many more. They cover acts across various genres such as rock, pop, R&B, jazz, Latin, blues and world.

Stepping back from melodies, Hoboken received a taste of reality TV as well. Now, we all know NJ has had its fair share of reality shows filmed here (hello Jersey Shore, RJONJ and Jerseylicious) and has introduced us to young celebrities we’ll never forget. From fist pumping with Snooki to flipping tables with Teresa Giudice, we’ve been there through it all.

Back when Kim Kardashian was dating former New Jersey Nets star Kris Humphries, he lived in Hoboken. So the two, who had one of the shortest marriages in Hollywood history, took a couple’s trip to Modern Day Nails on 728 Washington Street for manicures and pedicures. Kim even filed her own nails.

“She said that she’s picky and hates the feeling of filing so she likes to do it herself,” an onlooker told Newsday. “Kris was funny and told the manicurist not to worry, that she always does that, and that it doesn’t mean she’s doing a bad job on Kim’s manicure.”
